Astro
The planets on a price chart: as price lines, as bands and marks on dates, and as curves under the chart. Positions come from NASA JPL's DE440 ephemeris. Astro comes with the trial or Pro.
On the chart
- Retrograde bands
- Shade the chart where a planet is retrograde.
- Planetary lines
- A planet's longitude as a price.
- Gold line
- A path of turns read from the heavens, past the last bar.
- Echo line
- The market's own echo, rung on past the last bar.
- Coming up
- The astro dates ahead, with exact times.
Curves under the chart
- Jupiter − Saturn angle
- The angle between two bodies, 0–360°.
- Moon phase angle
- New, first quarter, full, last quarter.
- Bradley siderograph
- The 1948 weighted sum of aspects and declinations.
- Mercury speed
- Below zero is retrograde.
- Sun longitude
- The tropical year, 0° at the spring equinox.
- Ascendant degree
- The tropical Ascendant at the market's venue, round once a day; intraday charts only.
- Midheaven degree
- The tropical Midheaven at the market's venue, round once a day; intraday charts only.
- Any body or pair…
- Choose the bodies, frame and zodiac.
Ascendant and Midheaven curves need an intraday chart, and use the market's venue.
Astro panels
- Events
- Mark planetary events on the chart.
- Planet lines
- Draw planet positions as price lines.
- Gold line
- A path of turns read from the heavens.
- Echo line
- The market's own echo, rung on. Daily bars.
- Strips
- Planet angles as strips under the chart.
- Magnitude
- Write a 0–100 forecast of the days ahead. Daily bars.
- Sky wheel
- The sky on any date.
- Astro seasonal
- Average return by planetary cycle slice. Daily bars.
How exact the positions are
DE440 is right to a tiny fraction of a degree. A position error turns into a timing error, and how big depends on the body's speed: the Moon moves about 13° a day, so a tool 1° out puts a lunar event about two hours early or late. A slow planet loses more time to the same error. See how accurate are the planets.
